Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a light blue and white cloud formation enclosed at top by a blue scroll inscribed ARMOR DESTROYER in gold letters, overall a gold winged eagles leg erased a la quise detailed blue and grasping in his talon a gold arrow and sword garnished red an a gold lightning flash.

Symbolism
Ultramarine blue is the primary color traditionally associated with Aviation units.  Light blue and white represent the sky, the units theater of operations.  The eagles leg, grasping an arrow, sword and lightning flash denotes bold flight, swift-strike capability and shock effect from the sky.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 15 May 1990.
